Video: SUV trips over manhole in Russia

Russia isn't well-known for its high safety standards, so it's unsurprising to see local authorities cutting corners on road repairs. With this in mind, a second-generation Land Rover Freelander II fell into what seems like an exposed manhole, which was partially covered by a metal mesh frame, in the Russian resort city of Sochi. It caused the compact SUV to flip over but thankfully, the driver was able to escaped thanks to passers-by.

Lets just hope that local authorities can sort out teething problems before the 2014 Olympics Winter Games, although we wouldn't hold our breath. Video's after the jump!

Although the Lada can squeeze through the gap between the Aveo and Toyota RAV4, the driver calls out for the owner with no luck and starts shaking the car, setting off the alarm.

Video: Drive-thru; Hoons drive through a bus

What would you do with a Fiat Uno hatchback, an abandoned bus, some planks of wood, and few sheets of metal? Strip out the cabin and windows on the bus, place the wood vertically near the bus, and place the metal sheets on the plank of wood – to form a ramp - so you can drive your Fiat Uno off it, just like these Dutch hoons have done who give an all-new meaning to drive-thru.

Eventually, following numerous jumps, the car becomes wrecked and the engine falls through. Watch the moronic behaviour unfolded after the jump.

Video: Honda driver attempts to drift CR-V on Nürburgring

Any vehicle is allowed on the Nürburgring racetrack, be it a passenger car, commercial van, SUV, and even an RV, but they all carry a responsibility. While it's fun to fling your vehicle around a corner of a racetrack, safety comes first.

Unfortunately, the driver of this Honda CR-V was more focused on speeding than his own safety. Reports suggest the driver tried to drift the CR-V upon entering the Eiskurve bend and over-steered the SUV. The driver tried correcting his mistake which caused the high-sided vehicle to slide the opposite direction and hit a verge, causing the 4x4 to violently flip several times before hitting the guard rail.

Leaked: 2014 Fisker Atlantic

Following a teaser photo and recent spy images, the Fisker Atlantic has been leaked onto the web ahead of its New York debut.

Codenamed Project Nina, the newcomer will slot below the larger Karma and will be positioned as an entry-level model, where it will take on other mid-sized executive sedans. Although no official details have been released, power for the range-extending plug-in hybrid will likely come from a four-cylinder BMW-sourced petrol engine and an electric motor.

Managing director, Henrik Fisker said that lessons learned from the production of the Karma had been incorporated into the new car’s development.

“We launched Karma first to define what the brand was all about,” he said. “Obviously, Atlantic will sell in greater volumes, but we wanted to be known as a premium maker before introducing something cheaper.

“There’s nothing out there like Atlantic. Who says that you can’t have beauty in volume segments?”

The Atlantic is expected to be priced between $48,000 - $60,000 – before incentives – and is likely to launch sometime in 2014, providing the marque avoids further finance issues.

Once the Atlantic goes into volume production, a convertible variant is expected at a later date, possibly spawning other variants. Unlike the Karma, the Atlantic is likely to be offered in right-hand-drive, priced from £40,000.

The sedan will debut in New York this Wednesday 4th April with production commencing in Autumn 2013 in a former GM plant in Delaware.
