The new Grand Cherokee will come with Chrysler's new 'Phoenix' engine, a 3.3 or 3.5-litre V6 and a diesel for Europe. It will be engineered to accommodate a hybrid powertrain, to follow later. This efficient yet powerful V6 will replace the thirsty V8 petrol engine currently offered. Chrysler has this week announced a $1.8 billion investment on new-vehicle programmes and on updating its Jefferson North Assembly plant in Detroit, where the new Grand Cherokee will be built.
Grand Cherokee has ALWAYS been unibody. It is not a "body on frame" pickup.
ReplyDeleteReally? When it first came out, the Grand Cherokee was heavily criticised for its handling and body roll.
ReplyDeleteA unibody will give it car like handling and steering. Kia is doing it with the 2010 Sorento...
Laguna,
ReplyDeleteYour an idiot. The Grand Cherokee has NEVER been a body on frame vehicle.
Go down to your local Jeep dealer and look under the vehicle. It is, and always has been, a unibody vehicle.
Anon: Firstly anon, I maybe an idiot but you're a bigger idiot for using the "your" instead of "you're".
ReplyDelete"Your" is used when something belongs to you like YOUR car. "You're" is shortend for "you are". Example: Laguna, you're an idiot.
Please use the correct grammar when posting :)
Secondly, just because I don't beleive you, that automatically makes me an idiot?
first of all they aren't getting rid of the hemi and the car in da pic is A 2008 grand cjerokee
ReplyDeleteAnon, I'm fully aware of what year the G.C is and reports are suggesting that the 6.1 litre V8 goes out of the window in favour for a V6
ReplyDeleteQuite sure both engines are going to be made available. Both the Phoenix and the HEMI. And all the GCs have been Unibodies. Owned a 93, a 99, a 2003 and family has an 05. All Unibody.
ReplyDeleteOhh! it seems to be a serious discussion is going on here, i think by giving here my comment i am going to disturb you guys. But what make me attract towards this blog post is the Cherokee 2011 Jeep model, really i like this.
