Volkswagen deciding over 7 seat crossover for U.S market

If Volkswagen wants to meet its 800,000 sales target by 2018 in the U.S, it better start adapting its vehicles and product range. Luckily for the marque, it's mulling over a 7 seat crossover.

The sport utility vehicle segment accounts for a large amount of American car sales, but the German brand only offers two models and is keen to launch a crossover.

Although nothing is official, CEO of VW U.S Jonathan Browning visualises a 7 seater CUV (crossover utility vehicle) to compete with the Kia Sorento, Chevrolet Traverse, and Mazda CX-9. Despite Volkswagen's carrying a hefty price tag, this crossover would be priced competitively and suitably for the market.
