Teaser: 2013 Hyundai HB20

Hyundai has released a few teaser images of their upcoming HB20 supermini, denoting “Hyundai Brazil” with the ‘20’ being a reference to the European-market i20 upon which it is based.

Judging by the images and video, the HB20 differs to the i20 with a sleek, dynamic and curvaceous bodyshell compared to the conservative i20.

The hatchback will be powered by a pair of 4-cylinder, petrol/ethanol engines; an entry 63kW (85bhp/86PS) 1.0 litre and a more powerful 96kW (130bhp/132PS) 1.6 litre unit. Both engines will be mated to either a manual or automatic transmission, driving the front-wheels.

The HB20 goes on sale in October and will eventually spawn a pair of HB-badged sedan and SUV models.
