Although Fiat hasn’t officially confirmed the Viaggio for a European-market launch, the compact sedan would be a welcomed addition to Fiat’s current line-up.
The Viaggio is based on the Dodge Dart, itself based on a larger platform - called Compact U.S. Wide (CUSW) - of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta, Lancia/Chrysler Delta, and the current Fiat Bravo hatchback.
If approved for launch, the Viaggio would possess a series of MultiAir, MultiJet, and turbocharged engines.
In China, the Viaggio is powered by a 1.4T-Jet with either with 118bhp (120PS/88kW) or 148bhp (150PS/110kW), that are mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed dual dry-clutch transmission. Sales start in late 2012.
