Big in Spain: Fiat proves popular in Spain

Although car registrations have fallen 8.2% in June, sales of Fiat soared by 21.6% last month as the firm shifted 1,900 units and 10,091 units during the first six months, representing a 5.3% year-on-year decrease.

The 500 city-car accounted for nearly more than half of sales, with 734 units sold – thanks in part to advertisement featuring Fernando Alonso. The new Panda nabbed around 689 units of the 1,900 cars sold.

Lancia saw incredible sales growth, with 222 units sold, signifying a 66.9% increase year-on-year. The most popular model was the Ypsilon supermini, of which 100 units found new homes. Year-to-date, 560 units of the supermini were sold.

With a sales figure of 1,111 units from January to June, Lancia’s sales have risen by a whopping 91.9% YTD.
