Leaked: 2013 Honda 'kei-car'

Leaked patented images of an upcoming Honda kei-car have surfaced onto the Web.

The unnamed city-car will be heavily inspired by both the 1970s N600 and the 2011 N Concept 4 that was unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show last year. Unlike the tiny N600, it will have five doors.

Exact dimensional for the newcomer are unknown but the vehicle will be no longer than 3,378mm (133”) and 1,473mm (58”) wide. The cabin will be basic, at best with large HVAC controls and circular air-vents.

The front-engined model will be powered by a naturally-aspirated 660cc VTEC four-cylinder petrol engine that will kick out a maximum of 48kW (64bhp/65PS) driving the front wheels via a CVT transmission.

The unnamed city-car will mainly be sold in Japan and may be exported to several neighbouring countries during mid-2013.

Kei-cars are designed specifically for city streets where parking is a luxury and are predominantly bought by young women. They also qualify for significant tax reductions.
