Facelifted Jeep Compass spied undisguised

This is the first ever time Jeep’s compact SUV, the Compass facelift has been spied completely undisguised.

While it loses its anonymous front fascia of the outgoing model, the 2012 Compass will make use of the all-new 2011 Grand Cherokee.

Slatted 7-slot chrome grille, cleaner bonnet, and square off headlamps, will feature. The side profile will remain the same but the rear will be tweaked. The rear lights will be curvier and cleaner than the current model and the rear bumper sport rear fog lamps and reflectors.

Inside, the Compass will use better interior materials and the layout will be similar to that of the new Grand Cherokee. As far as we know, engines and gearboxes will stay the same but will be improved to boast better fuel economy.

In certain European markets, like the UK, Germany and Czech Republic, the Compass was killed off because the Patriot outsold it. Those markets where the Compass is still available, the updated vehicle will arrive late 2011 with a Mercedes-sourced 2.2 CRD.

So much better looking than the out going model, it looks great.
I prefer the forward angle of the C pillar on the JGC rather than the reverse on the compass, a minor issue though.
I hope they make trim available for around the wheel wells like the JGC has and also the Subaru Forester (option). I think that would give it a really finished classy look.
I hope they take the compass up market, with a few more tweaks I think it go head to head successfully with the BMW X1, Evoque, Q3 etc. Especially if they put a diesel into it.
Market the Patriot for people who actually need something economical for trail bashing.

Regardless of how Jeep market the Compass, it'll always rival the Kia Sportage/Hyundai ix35 (Tucson), Nissan Rogue/X-Trail, Subaru Forester and Jepp's own Patriot.

I actually prefer this to the revised Patriot
