Spied: 2013 Citroën C4 Picasso

Citroën has begun testing the second-generation C4 Picasso in Northern Sweden.

Despite the check-board disguise covering the vehicle from head-to-toe, the newcomer’s styling won’t be as avant-garde as the 2011 model as smooth surfaces and straight lines dominate the side profile.

Rumours suggest that Citroën’s C-Series MPV’s will be styled more conservatively when the C4 Picasso launches.

Some styling cues have remained from the current model, including the A-pillar windows.

The compact MPV will be available in two configurations, like today’s models. Powertrains and transmissions will be borrowed from the C4 hatchback.

The cabin will boast more robust, upscale materials and a driver-orientated centre console.

The front-wheel-drive C4 Picasso is likely to debut sometime next year.
