Leaked: 2013 Ford Transit Connect

The first images of the next-generation Ford Transit Connect have been leaked out of the European Patent Office, several months ahead of schedule.

The images show that the new Transit Connect will adopt a car-like fascia, similar to that of the new Transit but still in keeping with Ford’s Kinetic design theme.

While the current model houses smaller light clusters at the rear, the newcomer will boast the largest taillights in the class.

Numerous variants will be offered, including a Tourneo Custom five-seater model and a Custom two-seater commercial van. The cabin will be constructed from hardwearing materials, although visual design of the dashboard will likely be borrowed from the Fiesta supermini.

Although technical details remain scares, European models will be powered by turbocharged petrol and diesel engines with U.S models powered solely by petrol engines.

We expect the Transit Connect to premiere at the Paris motor show in September.
