Spied: 2013 Toyota Verso facelift

The third-generation Toyota Verso has been on the market since mid-2009 and is now due a mid-cycle refresh.

Snapped undergoing chassis testing in Germany, this swirly-coated prototype is sporting a substantial facelift. At the front, an angular fascia with aggressively-styled bumper, headlight clusters, and grille feature, alongside a more sculpted bonnet. The side profile remains largely untouched, albeit the bulging wheelarches, retaining the signature door kink, which extends upto the rear-quarter window.

Despite the camouflage, the rear looks largely the same with minor updates to the light clusters. The cabin will be updated, with plusher trims being equipped with Toyota's Touch and Go infotainment system.

Engine options will be borrowed from the Auris/Corolla replacement, which debuts sometime this year. The Verso compact MPV will bow in mid-2013 before going on sale immediately afterwards.

By the looks of things, only the doors and roof have remain untouched
