Spied: 2013 Vauxhall/Opel Insignia facelift

The Vauxhall/Opel Insignia was launched onto the European market back in 2007 and since gave the mid-sized family car subtle updates to keep it fresh throughout the model years.

Now, Vauxhall/Opel are giving the Insignia its first major facelift, in order to revitalise sales across Europe - in the UK, the Insignia remains a strong-seller – and keep the car fresh until its successor arrives.

The fascia seems to sport minimal changes, with redesigned fog-light surrounds and tweaked lower grille. We also expect black plastic inserts to be fitted on the centre of the fascia. The biggest changes are at the rear, where remodelled light clusters dominated.

We expect to see revisions to the interior and engines will be tweaked to offer lower CO2 emissions and improved fuel economy. Global Insignia equivalents will see the same changes later on.

The facelifted Insignia will launch in 2013.
