Spied: 2013 Kia Sorento facelift

While out on their travels, spies caught the revised Kia Sorento mid-sized SUV undergoing cold-weather testing in Northern Sweden.

Judging by the amount of thick disguise on the prototype, the facelift will be pretty extensive. We can expect sleeker, reworked headlights with LED daytime running lights, restyled grille and bumpers, and updated tail-lights. It seems that Kia is pitching the newcomer against premium compact SUV's as shooters say the Sorento prototype was accompanied with a Mercedes GLK and Audi Q5, meaning we can expect a more upmarket interior.

Minor updates to the powertrains will see increased performance and lower running costs. Other tweaks will include new alloy wheels designs and new exterior colours.

The current Sorento was launched during late 2009 in Europe, so we anticipate the altered Sorento to launch in late 2013 as a 2014 model year.
