Nissan cuts-out Altima Hybrid (U.S)

Nissan has discreetly killed-off the mid-sized Altima Hybrid variant. It comes as the marque announced that it sold a mere 35,000 units since 2007, which isn't bad as the hybrid variant is sold in seven states.

But there' another reason for the abortion. The Altima Hybrid utilised a Toyota hybrid system, which will be replaced by the firm's bespoke hybrid system, that was recently launched in the Infiniti M35h.

According to Mark Perry, director of product planning at Nissan North America, the Infiniti's system will soon dispersed into additional models "...where it makes sense."
