Hyundai's managing director, Tony Whitehorn has confirmed that every new Hyundai model will undergo thorough chassis testing before hitting the British market.
The ix20 supermini MPV was the first ever Hyundai vehicle to have its chassis tweaked for British roads, to ensure a supple ride.
"It's clear that the roads in the UK are unique and require specific technical changes," said Whitehorn. "Every new car we bring in will have a UK specific set-up."
The UK is Hyundai's second biggest European market, after Germany, with anticipated sales of 65,000 units in 2011.
"Scrappage put us on the radar, and there's no doubt our best advert has been having all those cars on the road, but now we are selling on the quality, refinement, value and emotional appeal of our products, not just because they are cheap," Whitehorn concluded.
