Mercedes is officially scheduling a coupé variant of the M-Class large SUV, dubbed the MLC. The idea of the MLC comes from rival brand, BMW, whose X6 four-door coupé sold 46,404 units across the world in 2010.
Known internally as C166, the newcomer will be produced in the marque's Tuscaloosa, Alabama plant, where the GL, R-Class, and sister-car M-Class is built, and will reach production in 2015.
Our previous report suggests there will be a performance-orientated model in the pipeline too. Mercedes has recently invested $2bn into the plant.
