New Car: 2012 Saab 9-3 facelift

Saab is revising its ageing 9-3 compact model for the second time in its nine-year life. The facelift includes front and rear bumpers, headlights, and new interior trim and fabric.

Two new twin-scroll turbocharged 2.0 litre petrol engines join the range, developing 163bhp (161PS/122kW) and 320Nm (236lb-ft) of torque, and 220bhp (217PS/164kW), which pumps out 350Nm (258lb-ft) of torque. The new engine offers better fuel economy, lower emissions, and more power.

The 1.9 TTiD diesel engines (130bhp/160bhp/180bhp) have been modified to a point where the 9-3 SportWagon emits 119g/km and combines 62.8mpg (4.5l/100km).

With two trim-levels offered in the UK; SE and Aero, they both come with 17” and 18” alloy wheels as standard.
