Chinese authorities have stop importation of the Toledo, Ohio-built Jeep Wrangler due to worries over transmissions. The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine has stopped sales and said that some automatic vehicles may catch fire, although no accidents have been reported.
Chrysler and the GAQSIQ ( General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine) are working together to find the source of the problem.
Jeep also issued a recall for Chinese-built Wranglers between 7/06/10 – 10/09/10 due to defective steering.
