We've all heard about armoured trucks pouring money onto the road after an accident, with go-lucky motorists risking everything in a bid for some free money. But I bet you haven't heard of nearly $21,000 in cash sitting calmly alongside the side of a freeway (dual-carriage way) without any security.
A local weekly publication in Delaware, Ohio has confirmed that local authorities gathered nearly $21,000 on Route 23, between Jacksonville, Florida and Mackinaw City, Michigan, and have not had any claimants.
As a result, city officials have decided to keep the money for themselves, putting it into the city's general fund.
