Audi Q6 test mule snapped shredding the Nürburgring Nordschleife

Audi has begun testing the long speculated Q6 crossover with this Q5 test mule. Despite the testing equipment on the wheels – which measures rolling resistance, the vehicle's ESP system, and brakes – the Q5 test mule sports an extended wheelbase, bodyshell and widen wheelarches.

Although this is a chassis mule, genuine prototypes should appear sometime in mid-2012.

The Q6 will be an SUV Coupé, similar to the BMW X6 and will sit upon an extended Q5 platform, called the MLP or Modular Longitudinal Platform. This will allow the newcomer to slot nicely between the Q5 and the larger Q7.
